Cello 2017 : ... and the twelve finalists are
Around midnight on Saturday the 20th of May the chairman of the jury has announced the 12 candidates who go through to the final !
In alphabetical order, the finalists of the 2017 cello competition are : Santiago Cañón-Valencia (°1995 Colombia), Brannon Cho (°1994 United States of America), Sihao He (°1993 China), Victor Julien-Laferrière (°1990 France), Seungmin Kang (°1987 Korea), Ivan Karizna (°1992 Belarus), Maciej Kułakowski (°1996 Poland), JeongHyoun (Christine) Lee (°1991 Korea), Yan Levionnois (°1990 France), Yuya Okamoto (°1994 Japan), Aurélien Pascal (°1994 France), Bruno Philippe (°1993 France)
They will perform at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts from 29 May until 3 June. For the first time in the final, Brussels Philharmonic
will accompany the twelve finalists, conducted by its music director Stéphane Denève

On Tuesday the 13th of June, the 4th, 5th and 6th laureates
will concertize with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège conducted by Christian Arming. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd laureates
will close this cello session on Thursday the 15th of June at the closing concert with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Muhai Tang. At Flagey the other six laureates will give a recital (on Wednesday 7 June
and on Thursday 8 june
